It was a thrilling match on Saturday when the Bears and the Ice met for the second time this season for the Canada Day Classic presented by Air Canada at Macquarie Ice Rink. Goals from Jake Ratcliffe (2), Danick Gauthier (2), Tim Newmark and Ryan Annesley saw the Bears defeat the Ice 6-4 and keep the Canada Day Cup in Sydney.
Making their AIHL debut were the Bears newest imports, defenseman Kyllian Guyenet and forward Adam Dauda. Guyenet had his first AIHL assist and was awarded The Ranch Hotel Man of the Match.
The Bears are back at it again this Saturday for the third Battle of Sydney against rivals, the Ice Dogs. The Bears have faced the Dogs twice this season, the first time saw the Bears walk away with an 8-3 win and the second with a 6-3 win. So you know this next battle is going to be fiery as the Bears look to secure another win along with the Wilson Cup.
