Sydney Bears are excited to once again have Tomas Landa play in 2016. This will be Tomas’ 5th year as an import in this league so is no stranger to this league and the Bears. Fan favourite Landa is just shy of 2 points per game in the AIHL so production has never been a problem for the 32 year old forward. Last year a broken wrist limited Landa to only 16 games but he still managed 24 points in that span. Landa is hoping for a quicker start for the Bears than last year “I love playing in Australia. The fans are great and I just love to play hockey. Hopefully go the whole year with no injury and look to bring home another Goodall Cup in 2016” Head Coach Ron Kuprowsky had previously seen enough of Landa when facing the Bears and last year got to see up close how much the Czech native puts into each game “Tommy is great! Explosive to watch and just has that ability to put points on the board each night. He loves to play and his smile sometimes masks a very competitive hockey player who doesn’t like to lose! He will bring great consistency to the team this year.” Landa also brings versatility to the Bears. Although he spends most of the year as a forward , he always plays the point on the powerplay and is just as comfortable playing defence if needed. The Bears first game is April 23 V CBR brave.
