The Sydney Bears will be without Captain Michael Schlamp and starting goaltender Anthony Kimlin for the upcoming road trip to Adelaide this weekend. Following the game against the CBR Brave in Canberra this past Sunday, May 29, both Schlamp and Kimlin were assessed fighting majors with an automatic 2 game suspension. The incident occured in the third period after CBR Brave forward, Harry Byers crashed into Kimlin, forcing a reaction from the Australian representative goalie, Schlamp came to the aid of his goaltender which resulted in both being awarded fighting majors. Michael Schlamp will be replaced in the line up by veteran forward, Adrian Esposito. With Anthony Kimlin replaced by James Downie. Despite the loss of two star players, the Bears are set to take on the Adelaide Adrenaline and hope to secure two wins to climb the standings. |
