The 2016 Wilson Cup starts this weekend!

NSW teams to contest pre-season Wilson Cup!

 

The Sydney Bears, Sydney Ice Dogs and the Newcastle North Stars will revisit the Wilson Cup pre-season tournament in 2016.

Beginning on Saturday the 19th of March, the three teams will play a game home and away each against the other two teams.

The leading two teams will meet for the final at Penrith Ice Palace on the 16th of April.

The tournament games will be played over three weekends, with a no games running over the Easter long weekend (25-28 March).

Following the North Stars' Wilson Cup win in 2015, all three teams have won the trophy, held between the Australian Ice Hockey League teams as part of their preparation.

The Bears won the Cup in 2014, and the Ice Dogs in 2013. For the Ice Dogs in 2013 and the North Stars in 2015, it was a prelude to an AIHL championship season.

Tickets are very reasonably priced and can be bought on entry to the games or online for select games.

Saturday April 2nd - North Stars vs. Ice Dogs @ Newcastle - 5:00 PM
Sunday April 3rd - Bears vs. North Stars @ Penrith - 5:00 PM

Saturday April 9th - North Stars vs. Bears @ Newcastle - 5:00 PM
Sunday April 10th - Ice Dogs vs. Bears @ Liverpool - 5:00PM
