MEET THE PLAYERS:
#24 Tomas Landa

What other teams/ leagues have you played for? What are the main differences in the leagues?
I played in Czech for Kladno juniors until my 20’s. I played 11 seasons of second league for the HC Risuty Bulldogs and 1 season for the HC Kolin Goats. The main difference is the game is it is more technical in Czech.  

How did you get into ice hockey originally?
My older brother played ice hockey and I used to watch him. I started skating when I was 5 and played my first game at 6 years old.

Why did you choose your number?
In 2007 I started with the Bears in number 33… I changed to number 24 because this was the number I wore in Czech.

What attracted you to Australia?
I wanted to travel to gain experience. I contacted Vlad Rubes through his school friend so I coult build some hockey contacts in Australia and meet people through sport.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
Plenty… but I really don’t like it when people touch my stick before a game. To be clear, im talking about my hockey stick!

Would you like to stay in Australia or do you plan on moving back to Czech after hockey?
I’m staying in Australia… if immigration lets me and my girlfriend still wants me.

Who is your favourite NHL team and player?
I don’t have a favourite NHL team but I do enjoy watching Czech players… I used to play with David Krejci (Boston Bruins) and I like his smart play.
